Harvesting Equity: The Intersection of Farmworker Rights and Environmental Justice

This is a faculty/community leaders panel where we will explore the intersections of farmworker rights and environmental justice. This session will uncover the impact of historical racism in agriculture on farm workers and address environmental injustices. We will engage in discussions about the frontline experiences of farm workers in climate change and exposure to hazardous pesticides, shedding light on environmental racism and their challenging working conditions. Emphasizing comprehensive solutions, our session will delve into actionable steps through legislative measures, promoting fair labor practices, and sustainable agriculture policies.
